Microsoft Reportedly Still Planning To Bring Black Ops 7 To Nintendo Switch 2, Despite No Official Announcement

The announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 closed last night's annual Xbox showcase, to the chagrin of a subsection of Xbox fans, especially those eagerly awaiting an update on Fable.

Interestingly, Black Ops 7 is set to release on last-gen consoles, namely the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Kotaku also reports that the game is still releasing on the Nintendo Switch 2, even though confirmation of this was omitted from the official announcement.

The original announcement that Call of Duty was coming to Nintendo hardware came in February 2023, when Microsoft was trying to assuage fears that it would hoard one of the world's biggest IPs following its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard.

"Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players — the same day as Xbox, with full features and content parity so they can experience Call of Duty just as Xbox and PlayStation gamers enjoy Call of Duty," the announcement read. "We are committed to providing long-term equal access to Call of Duty to other gaming platforms, bringing more choice to more players and more competition to the gaming market."
